Hello, and thanks for visiting my website.

This page contains information about me and my photography.  There's also a Guest book at the bottom of the page.

About me

I like to take photographs and share them with others so I hope you find something here that you like.

I live in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, in the beautiful north of England.

I've been taking photographs for more than 30 years, starting on film and progressing to the inevitable world of digital imaging.

I could tell you about the cameras I use but I don't believe the camera makes the photographer - it's just a tool for capturing the user's vision.

Being able to 'see' the picture you want to capture is the key skill; what to leave out as much as what to include in the frame.  Using the camera to capture that picture is secondary.

 However, as I saw mentioned by another photographer recently, it is also important to be in the right place at the right time and not mess it up too badly when you take the picture.

My photography

I photograph anything that catches my eye, from landscapes to buildings, from flowers to snails, from doorknobs to drainpipes.

I don't take many 'people' pictures as I've found that most people (like me) don't like being photographed. I've photographed a few weddings over recent years for friends and family, plus other occasions such as children's birthday parties.<

Notes

They are extraordinary - not a word I use lightly.  Well done, mister.  The only ones I can't relate to are the slugs & snails and people.  The other stuff - especially flowers and landscapes - are wonderful.
